How do I investigate a call charge or limit an outreach test?

Find the outcome behind a charge, request a review, and control sending during a small outreach test.

You can trace any outreach charge back to the exact conversation that caused it, and you can cap what a test costs before it starts. Both are in your hands.

Trace a charge to its conversation

  1. Open Outcomes. Under Outreach, choose Outcomes. Confirmed outcomes names the contact and the fund and shows the confirmation date. Select the card to open the conversation, or find that thread in LinkedIn.

  2. Match it to the billing entry. Click your wallet balance to open Billing and read Transaction history. Outreach spending is grouped under Outreach charges, so Outcomes is what tells you which conversation sits behind a given line.

  3. Read the conversation against the rule. A call is counted when the investor shares a calendar link or a phone number, or you agree a time in the thread. A warm intro is counted when a portfolio founder offers to introduce you to the investor, or an investor offers to introduce you to another investor themselves. A referral that leaves someone else to arrange it is not counted. Every one of these is confirmed by a person before it is charged.

If the conversation does not match the outcome on the card, that is worth flagging. What if a booked call never happens? covers a call that was counted but did not take place. Where do I see exactly what I was charged for? covers reading your billing history in full.

Keep a first test small

Two things control what a test can cost you, and the first is a hard cap.

Your wallet balance is the ceiling. Outreach charges come only out of credit you have already topped up, so what you top up is the most you can ever be charged. Top up $50 and $50 is the limit, whatever the campaign does. We never bill your card on our own, and charges only begin once the 30-day trial ends.

Approving fewer contacts controls the volume. Approve only the contacts you want in the test and skip Approve all. Check both Investor campaign and Warm intro campaign if you run both, because they queue separately.

Pause when you have seen enough. Open each running campaign and choose Pause. The two campaigns have their own controls, so pausing one leaves the other sending.

Note: Pausing stops new messages going out. A conversation that was already running can still produce a confirmed outcome afterwards, so a charge can land shortly after you pause. It can never take you past your wallet balance.

Quick answers

Can a test cost more than I put in my wallet?

No. Charges come only from credit you have topped up, so your balance is the maximum you can be charged.

Can a calendar link or phone number count before the call happens?

Yes. Either one counts as a booked call, and a person confirms it before anything is charged.

Does a friendly reply count as a warm intro?

No. There has to be an actual offer to make the introduction. Pointing you at someone else to arrange it does not count.

Does pausing stop every later charge?

Not always. A conversation already in progress can still produce a confirmed outcome after you pause, though never beyond your wallet balance.

Is anything charged during the trial?

No. Everything is free for the 30 days, and the $50 wallet deposit is waived. After that it is $10 per call booked and $10 per warm intro offered.
